| One of the strongest attributes of the Lovers Lane congregation
is its big heart -- visitors and new members alike have commented on the welcoming
spirit, friendly smiles, gentle care and supportive interest shown by members
of our Christ-centered congregation. |
| A new ministry is being launched
at Lovers Lane that will take our big heart-- filled with Christ’s love
and compassion-- to those who are now physically unable to be present for services
and activities on the church campus. |
| For these homebound members who experience personal
situations affecting their ability to participate in the life of the church,
why not take the spirit of Lovers Lane to them? That is exactly what HeartStrings
Ministry will do. |
| Following a period of recruitment and training,
HeartStrings volunteers will be paired one-to-one with a member in their neighborhood
who is currently homebound. |
| This important connection will be the "string" that
winds from the heart of Lovers Lane Church to their home. God is working in our
midst right now to touch the hearts of the 100 individuals who will become HeartStrings "ministers".
Perhaps you are one of those who will say "YES, count on me" to : |
-
Give a weekly phone call to talk, share news of the church, and build a relationship
of care and concern.
|
- Make a visit once a month in his/her home.
|
| Jesus calls us to "feed his sheep", and this nourishment
of Christian friendship will be a strong string of His love, wrapping heart to
heart. |
