| I would like to share a vision for the Lovers Lane
United Methodist Church Foundation and its importance to our on-going ministry
and outreach. |
| I pray for the day when our Foundation can have
an adequate Unrestricted Fund so that the annual interest from this Fund will
cover the costs of maintenance and renovation for our facilities. It would also
provide additional funds for ministry and outreach projects over and beyond the
budget. |
| With a healthy Unrestricted
Fund, our Annual Budget giving can be more directed toward developing, implementing,
and staffing our ongoing ministries and outreach. Doing this requires a projected
increase in the Unrestricted Fund of the Foundation to at least $10 million. |
| Tammy and I, like you, pledge and give to the Annual
Budget. We also make contributions to the capital campaign and give to other
favorite causes outside our local congregation. We have been inspired to rewrite
our Wills to make sure that 10% of our estate goes to the Foundation. |
| When the day comes
that we are no longer a part of the ministry of this world, we want Zachary and
Emily, our son and daughter, to witness this final stewardship lesson on tithing.
They can then pass it on to our grandchildren. |
| Others, in making a gift, may want to use one of the many opportunities
available for giving to the Foundation. Some may see fit to make estate plans
for a percentage amount larger or smaller than the one we have chosen at this
time in our lives. |
| My prayer is that all of us will consider making a gift to the
Foundation, so that it may grow and allow us to touch additional lives for the
honor and glory of our Lord. |
| |
Prayerfully, |
