| At Lovers Lane United Methodist Church we believe that Senior Adults are unique individuals with gifts and graces to empower the local church and to serve the community. |  |
| Ministry for Senior Adults involves a balanced opportunity for seniors to enjoy both recreational and service activities. A committee plans trips that are primarily within a day’s drive from the church. These trips include a variety of activities in Dallas and the surrounding areas. | |
| A group of seniors rearrange flowers each Monday that have been placed in the worship services. These flowers are taken to those in the hospitals or convalescence centers. Each year, college boxes are prepared and mailed to college students who are related to church members. These boxes contain a variety of items that students enjoy. | |
| Prior to the flu season, this ministry arranges for flu shots to be given to members of the congregation. There are others activities that the group plans that are enjoyed by senior adults. | |

| Upcoming Events: TRAVEL PROGRAM FOR 2008 By Bob Womer | |
Travel Ministry Meetings Bob Womer will be in town June 14, for trip meetings. They will be held in the basement of the Sactuary, so please use the Northwest HYW entrance. The Fall trip to Israel (In The Steps of Jesus) will be at 1:30 p.m. and the other meeting for Oberammergau and other 2010 meetings will be at 2:30 |
The travel minstry, headed by Dr. Bob Womer, has become a very active program at Lovers Lane UMC providing opportunies for travel to both retirees and other adults. It is open to both members and non-members. Bob Womer will be in town and there are four trip meetings scheduled. Members and friends are invited. If you desire information about these trips prior to the meetings, contact Jeanelle Bandy, 972.235.5944 or Bob Womer 214.675.9004. You can also receive information by e-mail from robleeltd@sbcglobal.net. We are currently registering people for these trips. Bob is presently traveling in Ireland but feel free to call or e-mail me if you need additional information. We are presently registering people for the trip to Oberammergau. If you have not received an itinerary for this trip. please let me know if you are interested. I need to register 12 people before May 31. |
