| Habitat is founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety. | |
| The 200,000th house internationally will be dedicated this summer. Every 26 minutes around the world a new Habitat homeowner gets the keys to their new home. | |
| In Dallas, we have completed over 400 homes to date. We will build 100 in 2005! We build in distressed neighborhoods, transforming communities and lives. Our homes are not given away; they are purchased at a 0% interest mortgage by deserving, low-income families. Monthly payments are used by Habitat to build more houses. | |
| There is a great need for low-income affordable housing in Dallas. Many families are forced to live in substandard, unsafe homes because their modest income cannot support rent for an efficiency apartment. | |
| Our builds are on a nine week schedule. | |
