ONGOING OUTREACH MINISTRIES:
Jail Ministry
Powledge, Beto & Coffield Units:  One Saturday a month volunteers provide transportation to the family members of offenders incarcerated in Palestine, Texas.  Our church buses are the only means these families have of visiting their loved ones.  Family members are allowed to visit for a two-hour period and then return to Dallas.  Also, many of our volunteers visit offenders who do not have any family or friends visiting them.
Lew Sterrett Jail:  The first Sunday of each month, Lovers Lane provides worship services at the county jail in downtown Dallas.  The group leaves the church about 1:15 p.m. and returns around 4 p.m.
Hutchins State Jail:  Volunteers go from 1 to 4 times a week, helping with the H.O.P.E. Literacy Program.  Volunteers have also led worship services on Easter as well as worship and games for Dads and Sons Day around Father's Day.  During Christmas, needed items are collected and distributed to every offender at Hutchins (items collected in the past include deodorant, soap and ramen noodles).
