Buchanan	The Stewpot offers a safe haven for homeless and at-risk individuals of Dallas, providing resources for basic survival needs as well as opportunities to start a new life. Contributions to The Stewpot provide for hot meals, case management services, drug & alcohol addiction services, dental and medical care, inner city youth programs, and other opportunities for self-sufficiency.
All community donations to to direct program expenses to meet an annual 1.2 million dollar direct program budget. First Presbyterian Church of downtown Dallas provides for building and overhead expenses for The Stewpot.
Casework services and appointments for persons in need are delivered Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The Stewpot's summer visiting Youth program adds a homeless awareness and social mission education component for a cross section of youth from across the country. Eight different groups of middle-class students from across the country get a dose of urban reality each summer as they arrive for one-week stints working as camp counselors with homeless and at-risk children. Events are spent volunteering at Dallas agencies that serve domestic violence victims, senior citizens, and other at-risk groups. At the end of the week, the youth are invited to relax and talk about what they have seen and learned at a swimming party hosted by the Board of First Presbyterian Church.

What can you do?
	Remember with compassion the lives of homeless and at-risk children and youth in your personal devotions.
	Contribute money to help support the agency. Memorial gifts and acknowledgement cards for birthdays or anniversaries make a thoughtful way to honor family and friends, or sponsor The Stewpot Lunch for a day. The cost/meal is only .75 cents. 	Volunteer on a weekly or monthly basis to serve meals, supervise art classes, pick up baked goods, conduct Bible studies, work at the front desk or in the mail room or medical clinic, or work with at-risk children and youth on Wednesday evening and Saturday mornings.
