UMW:Small Groups and Meeting Schedules
If you are new to Lovers Lane or looking for new friends, come join us.
Look at the groups listed below to find one that can best meet your needs. Each listing contains a description of the group and their meeting times. We're sure you'll find a "home" in one of them.
If you need more information, please call Wendy Campbell (membership), at 972-458-8173 or the church office at 214-691-4721. If you need childcare reservations, please contact call 214-706-9535 at least 48 hours in advance of the event if possible. You may also access the weekly newsletter here.
Abigail Group A group of women with children of all ages who meet in members' homes with child care provided at the church during the meetings.
 The group's programs follow the mission studies of the United Methodist Women as well as other issues interesting to the group as a whole.
Meetings: Third Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. usually in members' homes

Deborah GroupThis group spans a wide range of ages, mostly over 50, with some recently retired members.
 Programs include approved UMW studies and many guest speakers.
Meetings: Third Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in members' homes and other locations as programming dictates.

Elizabeth GroupA diverse group of employed and retired women ages 30 to 90.
 Members say the great diversity of the group adds to the study and growth of their faith. Programs follow UMW mission studies, in which all members participate through reading preparation and discussion.

Priscilla Group This group of women spans a large age range, mostly born before 1960. Their programs focus on UMW missions and Bible studies.
  The Priscillas host a birthday party each March for all the residents at CC Young.

Bookworms Two meeting times each month allow a large group of women to participate in discussions of selected literature directed by a Dallas Reader of theYear and a former teacher,
 Selected books are posted on the UMW Bulletin Board.
Meetings: Fourth Tuesday in Christ Family Center 215 at 1:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Sew 'N' SewThis busy and eclectic group is open to anyone who wants to spend time on projects for all kinds of events.
 ALL women of the church are invited to quilt, crochet, knit, make craft projects or sew. We'll teach you if you'd like to learn.

General UMW Gathering

Project Transformation: Volunteers are needed to read with the Project Transformation Day Campers at Walnut Hill UMC on July 14,15,16,17 from 9:30 to 12p.m. (noon) . The children, ages 6 to 13, are from Christ's Foundry. You will interact with the campers in a one-on-one setting for 30 minutes in three sessions. Youth volunteers in grades 7-12 are welcome with adults. If you are interested, please contact Beverly Shults 214-739-1216 . Ten to fifteen volunteers are needed each day. Remember UMW Members....Project Transformation is a program we help sponsor each year.
